"Three Kingdoms"
The film, which claims itself "one hero's epic", portrays the fighting life of a widely known Chinese hero, Zhao Yun, who lived during the Three Kingdoms period set in 220-265 A.D. And this story is based on the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", known as one of China's four major classical literary works. Some characters have been reformed to highlight the dramatic effects. "Cao Ying, the heroine of the film, derives from the grandson of Cao Cao, the king of one of the three kingdoms. The grandson defeated Zhao Yun, the general who won battles all the time. We think if the one who beats Zhao Yun is a woman; the story will be more interesting." Daniel Lee, both the screenwriter and director of the film, is quoted as saying. Andy Lau also appreciated Maggie Q's performance in the film. He said Maggie Q's performance made him feel encouraged. Source
