Dailyjunk presents : The Football Manager Guide Part 3

Happy bank Holiday!! Hope you all had a great weekend and spent most of your days playing FOOTBALL MANAGER! (o.k, i understand that you are not that sad, but as long as you played it a little). I was meant to write this part a few days ago but i got a little bit sidetracked, so now i am ready to go through what i personally think is the most important factor in FM and thats TRANSFERS.

This part is so key in the role of a manager as i see it as the difference between being successful or just being the nearly team, and no one wants to be that team. As part of this chapter, i will be doing my top 11 players of all time (in their desired positions)and also recalling on my two brothers and a couple of chums to get together the best signings on the game and the worst. Now it has varied over the years, and i will be just focusing on Football Manager 2008 edition, but as a bit of fun will be adding the all time best players throughout the whole of FM (whether you agree or not, thats f*cking your choice, leave a message with your all time favourites).

So imagine… you have unlimited funds and you were asked to build your dream team using any players that you have ever come across on the game…

Who will make it in your team???!!!

To start with i will explain my top 11 players and why i have chosen them, this is based on value for money, what influence they make on my squad and why you just can’t leave them out of your squad.

To start with the Main man, the one who keeps the team together, the one who you can rely on whenever you need a top performance…the GOALKEEPER. For this i have chosen…Sebastian Frey

Secondly, the right back, who will make the daring runs???, who will use there pace and crossing and provide valuable assists for the team…foralves.jpg this position i have chosen…Daniel Alves

Thirdly, the left back, who will do all the above but just on the other side of the pitch??? ( i’m not being biased because i am a Arsenal fan, but for sheer value and consistency…Armand Traore

The centre backs, what could be more important than marking the oppositions top strikers???, standing tall at the back and letting nothing through??? being that force to be reckoned with and to strike fear in to all those strikers???… for this i have chosen… Micah Richards (stunning) and Toure (again, not because i am biased, but you have to agree, what a legend)

By the way, this is based on a 4-4-2 formation and obviously there are better players out there for certain positions, but this is the fundamentals of a great team.

We now come on to the midfield. Who’s the leader??? who’s the player with all the bottle and won’t stop until the whistles blown??? who will create those all important chances for the team and on some occasions, score those all important goals???

Starting with the right winger, based on the fact i haven’t bought may right wingers and this signing was such a great signing when i once purchased him…i am saying…Ribery

With the left winger, there is one man, he is one of the best signings i have ever bought and every game i play, i make him mine. He is so consistent and the most all round performer (like Ronaldo was for Manchester United this season)…he is the one and only… Silva (originally from Valencia)

Centre of midfield, some people i know play One attacking midfielder and One defensive midfielder in the middle of the park, which is ok, but i prefer if you can, to play a defensive midfielder and a midfielder. The reason i see it is, you have your wingers and attackers to do the attacking, how about when the opposition is on the attack, you need a player like Essien in the way or Pirlo from A.c Milan. Again, based on who i have fabregas.jpgbought and how much of a influence i found them to be… i have chosen…Palombo and Fabregas.

Last but not least, the strikers. These are the players that win you games, turn games around, help you lift them all important trophies and will perform for you week in and week out. There is one definite that i have to put in to my team, and thats…Sergio Aguero. He is a fantastic player and a consistent goal scorer, he is the best striker money can buy and has done wonders for me whenever i have signed him.
The second striker is a little difficult because i usually play a lone striker with a Attacking Midfielder behind, but, for this i have whittled it down and to complete my team i have chosen…Rooney. My brothers will not agree with me, because when they signed him, he was “shit” as quoted by one brother, but when i signed him for a previous Arsenal team, he was immense, scored so many goals and was totally, totally worth every penny. (100million to be precise).

So there you have it, my top 11 players of the Current Football Manager. If you do not agree, i would love to hear from you as itll be interesting to see what other people think.

F*cking hell this has taken a long time, next time i decide to write something…I JUST WON’T!!!! Enjoy the read and carry on enjoying our website…designed specifically for the needs of a man!!! (or something like that!!!)
