Dailyjunk presents : The Top 10 Manliest Songs

This has to be one of our most popular lists when we launched it back in 2007, unfortunatley due to personal reasons and a few other things we had to bring the site down along with our list. But we’re back and so is the list, without further ado I introduce the Top 10 Manliest Songs. EVER!

Number 10 -

Welcome to the Jungle - Gun’s N Roses

A song that is instantly reconisable when the rift at the start kicks in, it’s a brute, brilliant song that defines alot about the men of that era. Whether that be tight leather pants and long girly hair we’re not sure, whatever though. It kicks ass!!

Number 9 -

Ace of Spades - Motorhead

Well this song is definitely the high of any car journey. The vocals of Lemmy are just outstanding along with the amazing rift. Note : if you ever go and see Motorhead live stand actually outside of the arena cos your ears are gonna drip off. Intense!

Number 8 -

Voodoo Child - Jimi Hendrix

We welcome you to the unbelievable and this guy brings it in buckets. This song not only showed the world just how good Jimi really was but just how many sad men solo to nothing but air, obviously when I say sad I mean cool. I’m one of them of course..

Number 7 -

Cigarettes and Alcohol - Oasis

Everything a young man goes through in his puberty and young adult years can be found within this song. It’s like something everyone I think could identify with, if not then just chill and listen to a song you should have heard a long time ago..

Sharp Dressed Man - ZZtop

Well this band know everything there is about being a man. Rocking out like veteran champs and having more babes by their side than a millionaire playboy. Play this before going out and your guaranteed a night of love, confidence and manliness!

Number 5 -

My Generation - The Who

Awesome tune from an awesome band. Very cool and moddy, this song not only defines a generation but also an entire gender. Thrashing your guitar on stage and swinging your mic. Does it get anymore manly?

Number 4 -

The Boys are Back in Town - Thin Lizzy

Well there is no explanation needed with this song because everything is in the title of the song. The boys are certainly back in town.

Number 3 -

Helter Skelter - The Beatles

Personally if you ever get the chance to see McCartney do, soley for this song alone, I can confirm it was loud and awesome. Plus screaming till your throat is sore is another great moment you just can’t buy with Mastercard.

Number 2 -

Song 2 - Blur

It’s short, it’s vile, it’s intense, it’s song 2 by Blur. The only song to cause 10,000 people to instantly turn into a bouncing motion of screaming woo hooer’s. This song gets the blood going for any male. A deserved place I think..

Number 1 -

Bittersweet Symphony - The Verve

A quite iconic opening for many this song along with the video created a calm amongst the public particularly males who lost sense of identity and where they were heading. Oh who we kidding it’s a f8cking great song one that every male loves, one that every male wants to hear live and one that means much more than you realize after the first listen.

We hope you enjoyed the list and perhaps agreed with some of suggestions, of course this is a list based on our opinion, you can decide whether or not it sucks below. Manly doesn’t always mean brute force and shredding of guitars like some lists I’ve seen.
